Dropping anchor at Porto di Diamante is like finding a hidden gem along Calabria’s coast. This quaint harbor, about 24 miles south of Maratea, offers a cozy spot and a peaceful berth. The port features a short, curved breakwater that provides some protection from northern and northwestern winds. However, it’s worth noting that the harbor is open to winds from the southeast, so it’s best to approach in settled weather.
The town of Diamante is renowned as Italy’s largest open-air museum, boasting over 150 murals adorning its streets. Strolling through the town reveals tons of art left by poets, writers, and artists.
