Set anchor in Porto Massimo’s turquoise waters. Found a sand patch in 6 meters near the breakwater. This small cove handles a bit of mistral pretty well, but east winds can funnel through hard. Here a few beach bars dot the shore if you fancy a cold beer or fresh bread and La Maddalena town’s only 2 miles off. Afternoon keeps most charter boats away, leaving plenty of swing room. Gets peaceful once tour boats head back to port. The granite hills glow orange at sunset – worth staying overnight if weather allows.
