1 Reviews on “Porto Vecchio di Pianosa”
Porto Vecchio di Pianosa is a historic landing spot with an eerie charm. Pianosa itself, once a high-security prison island, has an untouched, almost ghostly feel, for a stop well off the beaten path.
Mooring options are limited. There’s a small quay, but it’s mostly for official boats, so anchoring just outside in calm weather is your best bet. The island is fascinating, abandoned buildings, wild landscapes, and crystal-clear waters that are part of a protected marine area, meaning no fishing or diving.
No real facilities here, but if you’re after a unique stop in the Tuscan Archipelago, with history and nature all around, Porto Vecchio di Pianosa is worth the detour.
