1 Reviews on “Salt Whistle Bay”
Salt Whistle Bay is a breathtakingly beautiful spot, though it can get quite crowded, especially with catamarans. Anchoring can be tricky since the seabed consists of a mix of sand and weeds, so make sure your anchor holds well, or grab a mooring ball for around 60 EC per night. The bay offers great protection from the wind if you’re near the northern side, making it perfect for a peaceful night’s stay. Kitesurfers will love it here—there’s a sweet spot just a short walk from the beach, where the shallow waters give way to some good waves.
The beach itself is picture-perfect with coconut trees swaying, and there are plenty of local bars and restaurants. I had a memorable rum punch at Bushman’s bar—cheap and strong! Don’t miss the lobster BBQ at Black Boy’s beach bar either; they’ll even help with mooring if needed. Just be prepared for some crowding, especially during peak season.
