A scenic anchorage that sits just south of the French border at the northern edge of Catalonia’s Costa Brava. It has a sandy seabed with some patches of rock, offering decent holding. The bay is exposed to easterly winds, which can bring in some swell, making it less ideal in those conditions. The town of Portbou is a short dinghy ride away and has essential amenities, including small grocery stores, a few waterfront restaurants, and limited marine services. The town’s train station is convenient if you need a quick transit inland or across the border.
