Cala Mendia is now buoyed and anchoring is not allowed, so treat it as a swim-and-shore stop rather than a place to drop the hook. The water is shallow over sand close to the beach, with clear lines marking the area. Read more
Dinghy onto the beach and you’re right by a small resort strip with a couple of restaurants and easy access to the coastal footpaths. Nearby coves sit within a short hop for a quieter swim away from the marked zone.

1 Review on “Cala Mendia”
A sheltered cove on Mallorca’s eastern coast and a charming anchorage. The bay has depths between 4 and 6 meters, with a sandy bottom that generally provides good holding. However, as it’s partially open to the east, conditions can become choppy with easterly winds, so checking forecasts is recommended before anchoring. The beach, though small, has a laid-back vibe and is surrounded by striking cliffs and pine trees that add to the secluded feel. There are also a few facilities nearby, including a beach bar for refreshments and a couple of small shops in the vicinity. During peak season, Cala Mendia can be quite popular, so early arrival is suggested if you prefer a bit of space. For any larger resupplies or services, Porto Cristo is a short distance away and has more comprehensive amenities.
