Cala Murta is a narrow, pine-lined cove under the Formentor hills, with a beach at the head and clear water over sand. The setting feels natural, with steep sides and shade from the trees once you’re on shore. Read more
A marked path runs inland through the pines and up towards the Formentor viewpoints, and it’s not far to the peninsula’s lighthouse road for big sea views. Bring shoes for the track and plan time for a walk before the swim.

1 Review on “cala Murta”
I found a great spot in 12 meters of water, where the anchor held securely despite a bit of roll from the swell.
The cove is narrow, so space is at a premium. Get there early to secure a good spot. The area around Cala Murta is teeming with natural beauty; the pebble beach and surrounding hills, dotted with donkeys and goats, add to the charm. At night, the cove quiets down, providing a peaceful retreat. It’s a good idea to be mindful of the posidonia seaweed as there are regular checks to ensure anchors don’t damage it.
