Cala Murtra, located on the Costa Brava near Roses in Catalonia, is a secluded anchorage known for its clear blue waters and rocky surroundings. It provides a calm spot for anchoring, with depths generally around 6 to 10 meters and a mostly sandy seabed mixed with patches of seaweed. The cove is relatively untouched and doesn’t have any amenities nearby, making it ideal for a wild experience. The surrounding cliffs and rocky shores are perfect for snorkeling and diving, as they reveal an underwater world rich in marine life. The remote location also means that it’s usually less crowded. However, bring your provisions, as there are no facilities at Cala Murtra itself. Nearby Roses offers supplies, fuel, and other essentials.
