Cales Coves is a narrow inlet cut into the rock, with sand and weed on the bottom and steeper sides that can make positioning feel tight. Pick the clearer sand for better holding and keep clear of the rocky edges. Read more
What sets it apart is the prehistoric necropolis in the cliffs, with dozens of carved caves above the waterline. A dinghy landing on the small beach lets you walk up to the entrances and follow the short paths along the rock, with calm water for a swim below.

1 Review on “Cales Coves”
The bay is well sheltered from most wind directions. A mixed sandy and rocky bottom provides good holding. Its calm waters are ideal for swimming but the anchorage can become busy during the summer months. The area is known for its natural caves, which have historically been used for burial sites.
