Ensenada de Pozo Negro is a low-key bay by a small fishing settlement, with dark volcanic sand and open views along the coast. The holding is simplest over the softer patches off the beach. Read more
Dinghy in to the shore by the slipway or the beach, then wander the short streets and the tiny harbour. It’s a good spot for a quiet swim and a walk along the sand.

A very secluded and quiet anchorage. A good half of the bay ground is sand. Good holding.
The bay is sheltered from the north to southwest, but do be prepared for a bit of roll from the swell that sneaks around the point. I dropped anchor in about 8 meters of sandy bottom, which held well. The setting here is something special. From my boat, a stunning views of the dramatic mountain landscape. There’s a charming little village across the way with a few cozy bars and restaurants.
