You’ll first need to get access from the commercial port, then wait a few minutes for the marina’s gate to open. While the marina is known for its impressive swell, especially noticeable at the entrance, the overall experience is positive. The marina is conveniently located close to the heart of Santa Cruz, allowing easy access to the city. One quirky detail is the McDonald’s that marks the boundary of the marina. Despite the occasional noise from ferries and the swell, the marina is a good base for exploring the island.
