Anchoring is generally easy, with plenty of space in the bay, though the area near the castle can be tricky due to poor holding in seagrass. On the bright side, the sandy bottom near the beach offers better anchorage, albeit with the risk of getting snagged on abandoned moorings. Holding is generally good, and the view of the illuminated castle at night is stunning. However, the nightlife is intense, with loud music blaring from nearby clubs until 4 AM, so expect a sleepless night if you’re sensitive to noise. The bay is also highly trafficked by fast-moving boats, and securing your dinghy on shore can be difficult due to limited spaces. Despite these downsides, Bodrum offers great opportunities for shopping and dining, and it’s a convenient stopover for visiting the historic castle and exploring the city.
