Leaving your boat for two months during the cyclone season in Marigot Bay, St. Lucia… is that a good idea?
    Is it safe?
    Has anyone done this before?

      Hello,
It was done when I was in the area.
There’s a marina (pretty nice?) that had a good reputation, and mooring buoys for rent.
The area is said to be very protected.
That being said, in case of a major event, there probably won’t be much left…

So, after contacting the Marigot harbor office, yes, there are buoys available for a 43-foot catamaran at a reasonable price.
Now, what if a west swell comes in…?
The spot is very sheltered, making it good for cyclones, but what about the maintenance of the buoys and monitoring?

In the end, I opted for Carriacou, a bit farther, but further south and on land. Leaving my boat afloat in St. Lucia seems a bit too risky in terms of safety… thanks for your opinions 😉

There are some wrecks lying in the mangroves at Marigot. If a strong west swell comes in, it’s not ideal. The marina at Rodney Bay is much safer.
