        Hello,
I plan to leave my boat in Turkey for the year because the price is interesting – 1600€ for a 12-meter boat in a good 4-star marina.
However, when discussing with other sailors, I am advised against it because apparently, there are entry and exit taxes, and I also heard that you can only come to Turkey twice a year, for no more than 3 months each time!

According to the Turkish staff at the marina, all of that is false.
So if anyone has any opinions, I’d be interested.
Ah, yes, leaving your boat in Greece across from Turkey is possible, but there’s no more space or it’s more expensive than in France.

        Thanks for your insights!

        Good evening,
        Regarding the taxes:
Entry is significantly less than 200€, more like 150€, and even less when entering Datca.
Exit, in Datca, is 50€, with an additional 1/3 charge because I was anchored, but if I had been at the dock, I would have paid the same amount, sometimes a bit more elsewhere.
As for the stay, you can remain for 90 days (not three months) within a rolling six-month period. This allows you to explore a lot of the Turkish coastline, and since it’s a linear route, it goes quite quickly.
The coast is beautiful, though there are far too many small restaurants that have placed docks in the best anchorage spots in the bay and are waiting for you to visit if you use that dock…
There are few good shelters along the south coast if there’s a SE wind…
Cost of living is affordable. The Turks are often very friendly.

This summer, I paid 200€ for our entry into Turkey using the services of the Canakkale Marina (Dardanelles), but the price seems to vary depending on the client. An Englishman only paid 150€ for a larger boat. It wasn’t possible to handle the formalities ourselves in this marina because it’s prohibited to leave without the passport stamp, which is only given when the boat’s entry is completed.

There was no charge for the departure in Kusadasi since we did the formalities ourselves, but since you have to keep your boat in a marina, you end up paying for at least one or two nights.

It seems that foreign interest in Turkish marinas is declining due to high prices and political context. There may therefore be opportunities for wintering. Still, be sure to check what’s included in the quoted price.
